Privacy Policy
Who we are
Blinky is made by Axetech Innovations, which decides how your data is used and is responsible for it. If you want to know anything about your data, write to info@axetechinnovations.com.
The short version
Blinky works without an account, and then nothing leaves your Mac. If you sign in, the things that sync are kept on our server so your other devices can pick them up. We never sell your data, and we never use it for ads. Blinky has no analytics and no tracking, signed in or not.
What we collect when you sign in
- Your email address and your name.
- An account id from Apple or Google, if you sign in with them.
- Your password, which we only keep in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the password.
- The name and Blinky version of each device you sign in on, and when it last synced.
- The things that sync: alarms, reminders, tasks, notes, parked thoughts, streaks and their history, focus rounds, check-ins, outfits, date countdowns, and your name, face and settings.
- The internet address your requests come from. Our server records it with each request, and we keep those records for up to 14 days to stop abuse and fix problems.
Why we use it
We use your account details and synced things only to run your account and keep your devices in step, which is the service you asked for when you signed in. We use internet addresses and failed sign-in counts to keep accounts safe from guessing and abuse. We keep or share data when the law requires it. We do not use your data for anything else.
What never leaves your Mac
Clipboard history and the Shelf stay on your Mac, signed in or not. So do your calendar events, where Sunny sits on the screen, panel sizes and the calendars you picked.
Who can read your synced things
Your synced things travel over an encrypted connection and are stored on our server. They are not end-to-end encrypted, which means the server can read them in order to store them and send them back to you. We only open them to keep the service working or when the law requires it. Only the people who run Blinky can reach the server.
Services that help us
Resend sends our sign-up, password and account emails, so it receives your email address and the email itself. Apple and Google confirm who you are when you sign in with them. DigitalOcean runs the computer our server lives on. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.
Where your data is held
On a server run for Blinky by Axetech Innovations, hosted by DigitalOcean in the United States. Because the server is outside Nigeria, your data is sent abroad when you sign in. We only use providers that protect it with encryption and access controls, and we stay responsible for it wherever it is held.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you ask to delete it, we wait 30 days in case you change your mind, then erase it. Nightly backups can still hold it for up to 14 days after that, and then it is gone from those too. If you want it erased sooner, write to info@axetechinnovations.com.
Your rights
The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives you rights over your data. You can ask to see it and to correct it. You can ask for a copy in a form you can take to another service. You can object to how we use it, and you can ask us to delete it. Write to info@axetechinnovations.com and we will reply within 7 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
You need to be at least 13 to make a Blinky account. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you sign in. Blinky works fully without an account at any age.
If something goes wrong
If we learn that your data has been exposed, we will tell you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as quickly as the law requires, and explain what happened and what we are doing about it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the version and date at the top change too. If a change affects what we collect or how we use it, we will tell you in Blinky or by email before it applies.
